Had the pleasure of working with Mark Covington on the purchase of our 1999 540 Sea Ray Sundancer. Couldn’t have asked for a better broker. He is the kind of broker you can trust because he is up front and honest. That is a nice change from most other brokers that we have dealt with in the past. He always followed through with what we had asked of him and didn’t make commitments that he couldn’t keep. Working with Mark made the purchase of our boat an enjoyable experience and we would happlly work with him again in the future.

Karen & Rick (Sold their 23’ Pro-Line). Capt. Mark Covington did a fantastic job handling the sale of our boat. This is the second time that we’ve worked with Capt. Mark. Once again, his performance exceeded our expectations. He has such a positive attitude and a very high standard of customer service that he works hard to achieve. He’s not happy until both the seller and the buyer are happy. He put together a great listing on our boat for the web site with a lot of pictures and accurate information. He called us often to report on the inquiries he was getting on the listing and he kept us informed on the negotiations each time he had an interested buyer. He sold our boat at the price we wanted to sell it at and he worked quickly to complete the sale. The boat needed to be shipped out of the country so there were many details to handle and time consuming tasks to complete because international shipping requirements had to be met. Capt. Mark handled every step of the process with expertise and enthusiasm. He made it all sound easy, but we know he put a huge amount of time and energy into handling our sale. “I have had the pleasure of buying 2 boats and selling one boat through John Douglas all in a matter of a few months. I saw an ad for a boat that John had placed on line and called him about it and to my surprise he answered the phone instead of getting voice mail and almost every time I call him he answers and if you do get voice mail he will return your call promptly The thing about John is he knows boats and he will find out everything about the boat you are interested in buying. I kept the first boat I bought through him for a few months and decided that it wasn’t the right boat for me. He sold that boat for more than I paid for it in just a few weeks. I told him the model of boat I wanted and he had several lined up to look at that day. He went to Florida to look at one boat but called me and said that boat had issues and he would recommend that we not buy that boat. How many brokers after traveling hundreds of miles to look at a boat would recommend not buying it? I only know of one. After a few days he said there was one in Ohio that was a fresh water boat and he thought we should look at it. Again John flew to Ohio and after the seeing the boat he called and said the boat was immaculate and he would recommend proceeding with the survey which we did and after the survey he said he thought it was a good deal and would be a good buy. I had only known John for a few months but I trusted his judgment about the boat and trusted him to be honest with me that I told him to buy the boat without ever seeing the boat myself. My trust proved correct and I now have a 2007 Tiara 4300 Sovran that looks like a brand new boat from top to bottom. John handled getting the boat shipped from Ohio to Charleston and even shopped the shippers to make sure we got the best price. I can’t recommend him highly enough and I not only consider him my boat broker but a friend as my whole family does. Thank you John for several jobs well done.”
